ALBA IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE 2010 EVALUATION OF BREEDING STOCK AND A JUDGE'S SEMINAR TO BE CONDUCTED BY MR. ATJAN HOP OF THE NETHERLANDS

Mr. Atjan Hop is a founding member of The Lipizzan International Federation (LIF) and the Lipizzan breed has been his passion throughout his life. He has studied the history and genealogy of the breed which has included visiting all the stud farms, past and present to search for historical records and pedigrees dating back to the 1700's and in some cases earlier. For numerous years, Mr. Hop has been the leading authority on pedigrees and their accuracy for most Lipizzan registries around the world. Mr. Hop has also conducted evaluations in several countries (Denmark, Austria, Germany, Slovakia and The Netherlands) as well as participated as a team member during evaluations at Piber, Vienna and Lipica. Mr. Hop is an ardent rider of his Lipizzan stallion and has for several years studied under Portuguese masters as well as giving occasional exhibitions riding and on the long rein. Mr. Hop is currently writing a book on the history of the various bloodlines within the Lipizzan breed particularly as it regards the mare lines. This book will be published in the near future.

JOHN SAINT RYAN - HORSEMANSHIP SEMINAR - MAY 15

Southern California riders will have an opportunity to clinic with John Saint Ryan. The clinic rides will be held May 15th at the Courtship Ranch in Lake View Terrace near Los Angeles.

John is most well known for his extensive study with Master horseman Tom Dorrance and his commitment to Tom’s teachings bring an aspect to classical riding that is unique and enlightening.
John offers practical ways to help more fully understand Tom’s philosophy of reaching inside yourself to find the place where you can communicate and help reach “what’s on the inside” of your individual horse.

John’s students learn the importance of “body, mind and spirit” in every aspect of their relationship with their horses. John Saint Ryan competed and won the U.S. National Championship Title in Doma Vaquera Spanish Riding 3 times in 2004,2005,2006. He has a reputation as a truly talented, kind and gentle horseman. Whether he is working with Championship Show Equestrians or dedicated recreational riders, his focus in teaching is the same: "I want to help the students develop a deeper level of communication with their horses and unlock the incredible potential that each horse has to offer". There is no trauma or turmoil in a John Saint Ryan lesson! Just lots of fun and amazing results in connecting and communicating with your horse, no matter what your riding discipline may be.

Eventing Coach Jean Moyer

One-Day Clinic, February 20

Join "super Clinician" Jean Moyer at Courtship Ranch in Lake View Terrace on Saturday, February 20, for a special one- day clinic! Sought after in Area IX and other regions across the U.S., Jean is an accomplished eventing, jumping, and dressage trainer who has served as the Area VII Young Rider coach, and inspired a number of medal-winning riders, including the 1998 NAYRC CCI gold-winning team.

Jean in an internationally known eventing coach. She is a Level III coach for Canada, holds a BHSI from England, and is a graduate A pony clubber. For 12 years she coached and won many medals for the Young Riders. Jean has assisted Jim Wofford with coaching the Canadian Olympic Team and has worked with Bruce Davidson, Buck Davidson, Tiffany Loudon, Peter Gray, John Elliot, and Susie Petman Elliot. She clinics throughout the US, Canada and Europe. Jean is known for her keen eye and understanding of both horse and rider. Don't miss this chance to ride with her.
